Getting the Essentials towards your Career Success
We understand that a certification alone is not enough to thrive in today's dynamic job market.
A well-desired employee is one that must also encompass a broader set of skills and attributes to stand out and succeed.
That is why our programme goes beyond traditional certifications, focusing on five essential development pillars.
Personal development involves improving oneself through conscious habits and activities. It is the pursuit of personal growth to enhance your quality of life and to achieve your dreams and goals.
Personal development is a lifelong process that helps you to assess your life goals and upskill to fulfil your potential. It enables you to take initiative and control your course of action. You may not always reach your objective, but you lead a more fulfilling life because your purpose is defined.
A key component of personal development is self-awareness. It offers you the chance to take a closer look at the areas of your life that need improvement. Through this process, you get to know who you really are, what your true values are, and where you would like to go in life.
identifying gaps in own competencies, determine what training and development needs are necessary and select learning options that best suit one’s own learning styles.
working to build or maintain relationships or networks or contacts with people who are potentially helpful in achieving personal or work-related goals.
understanding your abilities, qualities, interests, values and aptitude (AQIVA) and how to plan SMART goals.
It is the process of improving a person's traits, actions, attitudes, and behaviours over time. It involves self-awareness, self-development, and deliberate efforts to develop positive qualities and abilities while addressing issues that may require improvement.
It is to help individuals become more well-rounded, self-confident, and effective in various aspects of their lives, including relationships, career, and personal fulfilment.
There are three key reasons why personality development is important.
1. It helps Individuals to better understand themselves. This self-awareness is crucial for evaluating one's strengths and flaws, developing meaningful goals, and making wise judgments.
2. It can lead to better interpersonal relationships. The quality of a person's interactions with family, friends, and coworkers can be improved by having a greater understanding of one's own personality qualities as well as those of others.
3. It can lead to career success. In the workplace, many personality attributes related to personality development are highly appreciated, including leadership abilities, adaptability, and effective communication.
At EduCareer, students are taught the personality model, MBTI, which has four dimensions, each of which consists of two opposite preferences, resulting in 16 possible personality types.
Having an awareness of what MBTI is enables students to adapt their interpersonal approach to different situations during their industrial attachments. Students can benefit the use of MBTI in the following ways:
Developing Oneself
Managing Change
Working with Teams
Professional development refers to continuing education and career training after a person has entered the workforce to help them gain new skills, stay current with industry trends, and advance their careers.
The purpose of professional development is to give professionals the chance to use new knowledge and skills that can benefit them in their jobs and further their careers.
The importance of professional development is to:
demonstrate that you can develop yourself.
maintain current certifications.
keep up with the most recent developments.

It is the process of learning by doing. By engaging students in hands-on experiences and reflection, they are better able to connect theories and knowledge learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
There are two purposes in the experiential learning process:
- to learn the specifics of a particular subject.
- to learn about one own’s learning process.
Experiential learning is important because it teaches the learner to analyse their actions, thoughts, and even their emotional responses. Learners benefit from this inward reflection by improving their personal connections, addressing their emotional needs, and preparing for the workplace. It also assists them in making important life decisions.
At EduCareer, students are taught the David Kolb Learning Styles and Experiential Learning Cycle model which touches on concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. The connection between
The students’ industrial attachment enables them to interact with the work environment and this provides the basis for concrete experience.
This “hands-on” experience provides the students an opportunity to think about the different tasks learned through reflective observation.
Over time, the students analyse these tasks to conceptualize the experience (abstract conceptualization).
Finally, the students may think of ways to improve doing certain tasks more efficiently by active experimentation.

Providing support to students in their pursuit of their academic journey.
EduCareer provides Workplace Literacy (WPL) coaching to students who need to meet the enrolment requirements of private education providers before they are admitted into the diploma courses. These are short term training sessions to improve the English proficiency of students across the four modalities of reading, listening, speaking, and writing. At the end of the training, students sit for the WPL assessment administered by British Council.
EduCareer provides opportunities to students who lack the ability to use the English language to make and communicate in spoken and written contexts while completing their program of study. Improving English proficiency helps students to broaden their minds, develops emotional skills and boosts their employability.
At EduCareer, we provide a secondary line of support to students who during their intensive industrial attachment, may not be able to connect with their lecturers directly. With this “bridging” assistance, students can connect with an EduCareer Academic Advisor through email correspondences or short message service (sms) to seek academic help with coursework enquiries. This is a unique value-add provided by EduCareer to ensure students have a high chance of success in their academic pursuits.
